A number of composers put in their own metronomesa what they felt the music should go at. And i think that's very important to learn them. For example, one of the beethoven sonotists that they call the moonlight, some pianist playd that first movement in a very dreamy, almost combination, romantic and impressionist way. That may not have been his intention at all. So sometimes you have to be a little careful.
