The Benefits of Chaining Transactions Together
Before Segwood, if you tried to say I don't care about the witness data of transactions that are relevant to me, you kind of get in trouble. But with Segwood, it's not Bitcoin because it's not a chain of signatures. We have a WTXID which covers the signatures, cover the witnesses and that is committed in the block. So we actually get two benefits here. Your wallets are now saved because they can just say, here's a TXID and the TXID won't change. Unless a transaction actually is a different transaction. And this solves like a million in one technical issues with multi-signature transactions where you didn't know the TXID.
