The Different Types of Thawing

We tend to group it into two different processes, one which we call gradual thaw. And the second type of thaw that we talk about is a brapped thaw. This happens when you have a lot of ice in the ground because as the ice melts away and drains away, you get a loss of soil volume. It's not everywhere, but we see that happening broadly.
