The Importance of Cheek Kisses

I feel like the kiss is a closer greeting than the hug. I'm more discriminating with cheek kisses, even air cheek kisses, than I would be with hugs. It doesn't feel like you can escalate to cheek kissing. Sometimes it's three and you get, you get called out for only doing two. How does three even work? You go back to the one you started on. And so I have to remember that next time. So I don't downgrade them.
