The Paradox of Maximizing Expected Utility
I wonder sometimes how much we can have in ethics that truly separates morality from partiality. Is there a case where you don't want to maximize expected utility? I think it says more about gambling than it does about being a utilitarian. If you just created twin Earth I guess you could but for the real world we can't keep doubling utility and so we shouldn't do double or nothing.
