The Color of a Dress

In the US people got up in arms because they couldn't agree about the color of a dress. Our brains use the context that objects occur in to figure out what color they are all the time. People who see white and gold, their brains are automatically assuming that the dress is lit from behind. This is just a tiny example of how our experiences shape this world building that we're doing.
