The Importance of Return of Spontaneous Circulation in Cardiovascular Arrest
I would have loved to done a 5,000 patient trial with survival as the primary outcome. I think broader and larger trials that test these more relevant outcomes are indicated. This specific intervention is not the current standard of care for the guidelines and it is not for my patients. We don't give intra-rest drugs to preserve neurological function. We give it to have return of spontaneous circulation and then hopefully have better neurological outcome in the end. And we did not have detailed data on CPR quality in this trial.
