"I was only like 22 years old when I started on camera and I was also a one-man band which was a big trend it still is but it was becoming a bigger trend in the United States in the news industry where you would be all on your own right" "Nobody wanted you to come into their neighborhood and report on gang activity or on drugs or on shootings or anything like that they didn't want to talk to you about it. A lot of people didn't speak English in the neighborhoods that I would go to and everything" 'It was really disheartening to me especially because I had worked so hard to get to that position so early in my career,' he says.
