The Virtue of Hope Isn't Arbitrary
The virtue of hope isn't arbitrary. The notion is this is something built into human nature. We are oriented in a certain way so that if you know the nature of the human being, you can understand why it hopes for it to be nothing less than the good itself and God. That'll be the background of what I want to lead into for talking about heaven. If you want the fundamental definition of heaven, heaven is simply the fulfillment of the human relationship with God. It's not arbitrary, it's because it's what's built into us. And the question is whether we hit that mark.
