Is It Necessary to Add a Tier?
I think things get a little murky when it comes to performance approval in general because there's a reason that we don't show actors their performances on set and in the moment. We have an interview coming up down the line with a TV director named Kabir. He says, like, when he's directing, you're only using 2% of the performance. It's really important to protect that 2% and that ends up in the final cut and not manufacture it. And I've done that as an editor where I've fabricated a scene that really wasn't there on set. But there's also something to say about, like, is it necessary? Is it good?
