William of Norwich's Murder

The body of William the martyr was found with a thorn embedded in his scalp. A small, spiny cone known as a tesal had also been forced into his mouth. This would have conjured images of Christ's crown of thorns. The culture of anti-Semitism in England was so strong at the time that it completely derailed any proper investigation and allowed a cold-blooded killer to escape justice.
