The Role of Literature in the Battle of Manchuria

From 1932 to 1945, the Japanese maintained a puppet regime called Manchuco. In terms of literature, writers were writing in or about menturia during this period. Each text implies a desire to claim territory for the Japanese people and Chinese people. The frontier texts generated new forms of national literature while destabilizing the notion that national literature is an entity with closed borders.
