Ted Bud has never broken 50%. Matthew Ho is drawing attention to the problem of letting Republicans win for no f***ing reason, right? And that fixes the problem somehow? It does. If it's a long standing Democratic district and you don't declare for the Democrat or you're declaring for third party, the odds are higher that you're going to break to the Republican than break back to the Democrats at the end. So again, same thing. If the polls are off by 2%, then we might have Senator Sherry Beasley.
