This week on the inquiry, we're asking will nuclear fusion solve our energy problems forever? In its simplest terms, nuclear fusion is when two or more atoms come together to make one single atom. Tiny little bit of mass can make a very, very large amount of energy. And that's what hapens with fusion. We take atoms, combine them together, and the mass is less than what it started with but you also get this extra energy. This all sounds very straightforward, so why haven't we got on with making this work a long time ago? Let's take a step back and remind ourselves what an atom actually is, and that will help us understand why they don't like
