The Importance of Trust in Negotiations
I think particularly trust, trust is non zero sum. I totally agree. And the thing that often scares me about Trump, the thing that I don't think he understands and thething that I'm not sure even America, at this point, is really feeling like it understands. In our relationship with our allies, you can maybe eat a little bit more military spending out of them for NATO, but at the cost of really losing a lot of trust they have in us. That's a hell of a lot more important to us than whether Belgium spends another percentage point on national GDP on national defense,. They're not going to be there when we need them.
