This was during the hayon period ye oka. Women were educated, but they weren't quite educated to the level of men. They learned how to write with this curse style. And these were written in hiragana because that's what women were allowed to write in. So there hasn't been any change. There was a little bit of change. It wasn't exactly the same, but it does look very, very similar.
