There are experts in infant health. It sounds like they should be an expert in infant death, but really, a coroner would be an expert. Infant death is relatively rare, fortunately. So the pediatrician messed up his statistics because he's not trained to think about infant death. And that put this woman in prison. That's very tragic and it seems like the pediatrician should have known. But i would imagine he's thinking, no, i've read several articles about this. I am an expert and i'm also a doctor. There's a conflict of interest.
