The Importance of Lower Hip Height in Deceleration

The lateral shuffle was a great opportunity to still have some level of breaking at lower velocities in positions that we want to see when we're doing deceleration in a 180 turn. So yeah, stick overhead, stick needs to stay horizontal to the floor, but at the point of final foot contact, begin to redirect that trunk in the new direction. And it's a very good feedback tool to see whether you have trunk involvement, trunk flexion. But yeah, definitely reinforcing those points of increased touchdown distance at the point at which you're hitting your final foot contact.
