The Confusion of the Mathematical Association of America
The Mathematical Association of America tweeted, it is time for all members of our profession to acknowledge that mathematics is created by humans and therefore inherently carries human biases until this occurs. The idea that the language that we use to describe something is the thing itself has been discovered over in science was a classic conflation between math and science. "You just don't have any business doing math if you think that's true," he says.
