American Diplomats and Their Families Evacuated From Sudan in a Daring Rescue Operation
U.S. officials say special forces swooped into Sudan's war-torn capital in Chinook helicopters to pick up embassy staff. U.S. troops were on the ground for less than an hour in the capital city of Khartoum. About 16,000 Americans are still believed to be in Sudan at this moment and they're being advised to liaise with other nations that are trying to get their people out.
