The percentage of 18 to 34-year-olds who are single has been fluctuating around 50% since 2012, the era of dating apps. In 2000, this figure sat at 40%, and in 1986, it was 35%. If you look over the last 50 years, or even maybe if you looked over the last 100 years, young people are more likely to be single now than they were in the past.
