The more you learn about the brain and human attitude formation and change, it'll ultimately make you a better designer. It's almost impossible sometimes to separate the human factor component behind these concepts. And I think in a lot of cases, that would be the last thing you would want to do. The field is so much more diverse than just motivation and engagement.
