A devout person was tempted to say, "I shall never more be sorrowful" Ecclesiasticus: God normally gives some foretaste of heavenly delight to those who enter into His service. He also sometimes withholds from us the milk and honey of consolation so that by weaning us in this way we may learn to feed on the drier and solid bread of vigorous devotion. Sometimes spiritual distaste, sterility, and dryness proceed from some bodily ailment; they do not fail to trouble spirit through connection between body and spirit.
