The Rise of Simon Barghiora

Between roughly 200 BC and 150 AD we know of 10, a dozen maybe 15, revolutionary or messianic movements which had leader figures. Most of those movements ended with the violent death of the leader. In none of those other cases do they go around saying actually we think he's been raised from the dead. Simon Barghiora who was one of the revolutionary leaders in Jerusalem at the time was dragged along behind the procession and then he was ceremonially executed. He was the king of the Jews if you like all this is history.
