The Greek Idea of Happiness

Greeks used to have a saying in ancient Greeks that you couldn't judge whether a man was happy until after he was dead. That's where the whole thing of appreciation of art comes from, because that's kind of a more pleasure to see you later recanted on that. But it seems to me it follows very clearly from this sort of unification of both parts of psychology. I'm really amazed that all the young people sitting here are literally amazed at the notion of higher pleasure, lower pleasure, mind-lifts and all this.
