I would strongly urge everyone listening to reject the obsession with pace per mile. It's vastly more relevant how many hours you are running and at what heart rate. The brain and your body do not have any notion of miles. They only have the association with time spent exercising. So it's much better and more sensible to track your training by duration rather than the number of miles.
