The Space Exploration Initiative

The space exploration initiative is really a launch pad, a pun very much intended across multiple departments at m i t. We support parabolic flights every year, launch opportunities to the international space station, mentraship for projects, all kinds of dfferent outreach. And we do this in support of graduate students and undergrads,. whether they're in the aero astro ment or the earth and planetary sciences department. The project that just flew on our last zero gravity flight was inspired by nicol stadt's amazing habit of doing water color paintings in orbit.
