We can make guesses and conjectures about what's happening in certain communities. But I'm not sure that we're always right, John Barclay has a good article on the dangers of mirror reading. And I think that Ephesians 4, 25 to 32 is best read as just a list of like examples. These are the kinds of behaviors to take up and practice.
