What Does God Want?

The holy spirit can only draw to christ those who allow him to have his way. And when the sinner responds in faith, using his or her free will, then the holy spirit gives life through the new birth. The psalmist teaches that god sits in heaven and does as he pleases. Six verses down, it says, and god has given the earth to man. He has given it over to man. So thereis a sense in which, yes, god can do whatever he wants. We all agree with that. But our contention is that god nt want a toy world of automatons; he wants free, moral creatures who make real choices.
