Justin Thaler is an associate professor at Georgetown and the author of Proofs, Arguments, and Zero Knowledge. He's worked on algorithms for processing massive data sets where you don't even want to store the whole data set because there's so much data. In his PhD thesis he spent a lot of time working on interactive proofs that combine cryptography with polynomial commitment schemes in order to create snark.
