The Importance of Veneration
The apostles allowed for veneration of images in some manner, but not to an extent that would violate Nicaea 2. At the root of image veneration is something like this: We do not embrace our children and fathers as gods, but we show our natural love for them by means of a kiss. And I have in this image up here, actually an example, because I noticed as I was studying the issue of icon veneration that it's so natural for us as human beings That even some Protestants might actually be doing a kind of icon venerations without recognizing this.
