The Importance of Jacob's Influence to Unify the People
Rashi tells us the back story of this particular wood. He forforesaw, prophetically, the jewish people are going to eventually build a mistan or tabernacle. And he brought the seeds of this wood to plant in egypt and instruct them to watch over these woods. So hundreds of years later, when they left egypt, they brought with them all that wood to the wilderness.
