The Importance of Critical Essays in Lewis' Writings

Lewis' critical essays give you insights into his own creative process. In one essay called Dante's Similes, he said Dante was the first person to compare an emotion to an emotion. Tolkien would never call your attention to the reader's primary world. He would think that was kind of breaking your contract with the reader once you've immersed yourself.
