Is It Just an Anecdotal Thing?
A, about ten years ago, probably more than ten years now, i did a master's degree that explored mediat representations of missing indigenous women and compared them with missing and murdered white women. A, i don some follow up a few times since then, a, in different capacities, but lik. I haven't seen much of a shift. Its just really cursory, like, very surface level um coverage. And when the focus isn't there, or when it's sort of like, you know, relegated to the back page, a or li just is not the main story, then the community doesn't have the capacity to grieve and mourn that person.
