How Laser Cooling Can Help You Get More Precision Time

Shining a laser at something would make it cooler. How does that work? Well, think about what makes something hotter cold. We use the pushing of the light to push on moving atoms to make them slow down. The temperatures we get our atoms down to are effectively the coldest temperatures there are anywhere in the universe.
