The Differential Diagnosis of Adhesive Capsulitis
You'd want to start with a set of plain x-rays or plain radiographs. Commonly, we will also order an MRI to evaluate for the rotator cuff. A telltale sign of adhesive capsulitis on the MRI that you can see is thickening of the glenohumeral joint capsule in the inferior axillary recess.
