The purpose of meditation, what is the goal? What is the point of meditation? Techniques are many, but what's the whole purpose of this practice? In Vedanta, Advaita Vedanta, no practice can give us moksha because moksha is our very nature. The problem is ignorance and we know that Avidya or ignorance of our real nature is the problem. And Vedanta proposes to solve it through knowledge. For example, an instrument of knowledge generates knowledge. Seeing of forms is due to the eyes. Mind plus the properly functioning eyes will give us that.
