How to Make Tooling Nicer to Work With
I allow myself like 10% of the time to make the developer experience nicer. I sometimes said to bike shed too much in that direction because honestly, I draw a deep, deep satisfaction from making tooling nice to work with. The good question is like, when is it actually worth it? Like, let's say it's something that takes a lot of effort to fix, but it keeps coming up and you're not feeling productive. Then why not? Some days you're just not productive. But if you're productive enough to get these things done, I think it's probably worth it rather than kind of just pilling around all day and getting nothing done.
