The number of class action lawsuits targeting food companies has increased in the last year or two. There's a lot of money at stake and I think it's easier for lawyers to find consumers who are willing to sue food companies right because they might feel frustrated when a claim they thought was being made maybe doesn't match up with reality. Over time consumers have gotten more interested in their food where it comes from you know marketing claims around it.
Tostitos chips without real lime. Root beer made with fake vanilla. Instant mac and cheese that isn’t so instant. These products are among the hundreds targeted by lawyer Spencer Sheehan, who wants Big Food to stop misrepresenting its products.
