Is Trump Going to Plead the Fifth in a Civil Setting?
The J-6 committee is not a criminal proceeding, but if we were ever to try to use somebody's invocation of their Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination at trial in a criminal setting, that would be reversible error. Trump released a statement in response to the subpoena that was pretty much exactly what we thought it would be. It was a rambling diatribe pointing to his own victimhood.
