Tories and Labour MPs
Tory MPs are very jittery about the 1922 committee, and that's what's going on. Some senior ministers say they felt a kind of lemon instinct to kick in with some Conservative MPs. They concluded that losing was inevitable and it might be better to do it sooner rather than later for the party's long-term prospects.
