The Consensus About Future Power Prices
In the last couple of years we've seen very depressed wholesale prices lots of negative prices during the middle of the day in large part due to grid scale and rooftop solar. And over the last six months we've entered a period of incredibly high prices, low coal plant availability,. Very high gas prices to the extent that the market operator in Australia actually had to suspend the market which for nine or so days. Clearly forecasting power market prices are challenging now.
