The Role of Dress in the Threat of Masculinity and Femininity
In the 19th century, certainly there was not a law as a population as Bulgaria. And so you do have this kind of slow embrace of those populations, but in many ways it remains academic until the 20th century. It's really after that period that it becomes a broader tendency to embrace these populations as Bulgarian. That's why dress becomes really important and I talk a lot about dress in my book clothing.
