Is the Santa Claus Rally in the Build Up to Christmas?

Nancy Priel is co-CEO of Essex Investment Management and senior portfolio manager. She says the Santa Claus rally does start right after Christmas but it tends to be a dramatic period. The catalyst is really the traditional end of tax loss selling, some reverged into the mean which can drive enthusiasm going into next year. We believe that the market is coming to grips with a world that is going to be very different for the next couple of years.
