Joshua Whitley was raised in North Carolina about 20 minutes north of Charlotte and he went to undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin for music performance. He came down to the University of Georgia where he got a master's in music literature and a master’s in journalism. "Big cities have a certain gravity and they sort of pull you in over time, so I'm getting closer and closer to Atlanta," says Whitley.
