I think at some point we'll advance towards capabilities that are far behind human level, and then it will basically be out of control. I think it's possible to kind of develop AI, and while developing it, you can keep aligning it. An example could be, essentially, when you have a member of society and you interacting with that member, it could be either human or it could be an agent. You can even make analogy with parenting.
