We all crave status, which is only based on those around us in our tribe. We are constantly comparing ourselves to the people around us. People who have sudden losses of status are highly vulnerable to suicidal ideation. But so are people who stay still whilst everybody else in their group accelerates. Those people become more vulnerable to suicidal idiation.
