Lauter was the grandson of Louis. He basically ruled for about five minutes and then just died. His one saving grace for us was a messy divorce that was really interesting, but apart from that it was prettypretty dismal. Low term made it even worse by not inviting he the great which antagonized him. And then he ended up fighting a losing war against both Hugh and then another one to reinvade law the ring. So he brought a lot of blood and death to the realm and didn't accomplish much of anything if not actually losing out.
