The Importance of Having an Opinion
I think the reason why the internet can be so annoying is because people feel obligated to have an opinion on everything. I ran focus groups for a very little bit of time and what I found in doing that is you ask 10 people if they like something, one will say yes but wait, what about this? And not only do the people that have paid for the focus group go, wait a second. They don't look at the other 90%. But then that one person can start to sway a whole group. Sometimes different isn't always better. It's just different. We've gotten to a point in society where different is viewed as better.
