There is a suggestion that maybe there is a decreased risk of renal replacement therapy, but it has really wide confidence intervals. The strongest evidence to this is the bicar ICU trial, which had a predefined subgroup of patients with AKI and they saw that they did have improved outcomes in these patients if they started them on bicarb infusions. It's probably best from an emergency perspective to continue to do what we're used to and that's given norepinephrine.
